Which bowlers have been successful so far?

Okay...so which bowlers have been effective?

Do you think that bowlers with effective slower balls will still be key performers?

Which of these bowlers have been key performers so far?

One thing. Spinners have not been as effective as most people believed on these low, slow pitches. With the exception of yesterday's India vs Bangladesh match - where I believe the indian batsmen were more to blame than any terrors displayed by the Bangla spinners - it is the fast men and medium pacers that have been most effective. Shane Bond has probably been the best of the lot, followed by the likes of Jerome Taylor and Andrew Flintoff.

Bond in particular seems to be bowling particularly well. If he keeps that form up, the Kiwis could go a long way.....with a bit of help from their batsmen, of course.

Shane Bond seems to be the most impressive so far. Very economical, always a threat as a strike bowler and good with the new as well as the older ball.

Yep, Bond has been the best seamer so far for me, when you need a wicket, he will get you one, always economical also. Another man who has impressed me is Powell of the WI, if he had any sort of support, the WI might have made a better chance for themselves.

Bond's job is to take wickets, yet he is not in the top 10 this WC.

1st game vs England, took 2, the biggies, KP and Freddie Flintoff. 2-19 from 10.
2nd game vs Bangladesh, 1 for 19 off 8 overs.
Didnt play vs Canada
3rd game vs WI - 3-31 off 8.4 overs, including Chanderpaul and Bravo.

Most in the list given previously have played every game or have bowled more overs.

When called upon, he will almost guarantee you a wicket, at a good economy, reason why is has the best strike rate in the world today. In the Chappell/Haddle series, when Gillespie and co went for 60-70 from 10, he hovered around 30, and thats only because of his 2 overs or so at the death.

He averages 11.5 this WC, so i wasn't saying that his performances were lacking.

Check my super 8 dream team and you'll see he is in it

I know, didn't say you were doubting him, just pointing out stats Ah well, for me, NZ will be in the final, so hope he will be amongst the wickets soon, thats another good thing about their bowling attack for me, its spread out (Bond, Styris, Vettori, Oram, Franklin etc)
