| Gilchrist, when the Aussies play Holland! I cant imagine van Bunge wanting to bowl. Going for six sixes once makes you famous (or notorious?), twice would make you suicidal.

| i think that any of them could do it in the next 5 years but i personally think Kevin Pietersen because i believe he is the best |

| I personally think that instinctive strikers like Afridi, Gilchrist or Dhoni are more likely to have a go at the record simply because it is now there. Calculating big hitters like Symonds and Pietersen do not seem to hit sixes as often as their high strike rates would suggest; there seem to be boundaries mainly in their tally. Having said that, for some reason I feel that Gayle is going to be the next man to do it and so I voted for him myself. |

| I voted Cameron White for some reason I don't know why, but my main guess would be Ponting, Lara or Tendulkar skill over power.

| I think that many of you underestimate this record and I feel that Gibbs is not given enough credit simply because he did it against the Netherlands. Firstly let me point out that sloggers (aka big hitters) will NOT be able to achieve this feat. As Ponting quite rightfully said, the player would need a fari amount of "skill". Just look at the previous 2 guys that achieved this. Clearly skill was a great attribute they posessed. People are saying that the ground, the opposition, etc are reasons. Well if this was the case, then an Australian should also have achieved this feat but none of them even hit 2 sixes in a row. IMO I do not believe that anyone will achieve this again. In fact, I cant even believe Gibbs did it. I always believed that Sobers and Shastri would remain the only 2 players to achieve this. I am delighted for Gibbs. However, if anyone could match this, I would have to go with Andrew Symonds. The rest of the guys on the list have no chance including KP. In his dreams. Afridi, 0 chance. Secondly, even if the bowling is poor, every ball has to go for Six, so your timing and reaction to the length of the ball need to be spot on. This means that premeditated shots (from Afridi for example) could not make 6 in a row. The batsman needs to pick up the length quickly and needs to be quick on his feet, have good hands, superd hand-eye-coordination and of course either power and/or superb timing. You will notice that Gibbs has all these features and the only other guy on the list is Symonds. Sehwag posesses most of these qualities but I do not see him doing this ever. I really believe that some people do not realize that what Gibbs achieved is near impossible. Think about the difficulty level of his achievement before trying to predict if mediocre players can match this feat. There should be another option ie "never to be repeated". Edit: as for Cameron White achieving this, only an Australian will say something so ludicrous. I think that Glenn McGrath has as good a chance as White |

| Far too difficult to predict. The batsman needs the skill to do it but he also needs the bowler to lose his nerve too. The fourth, fifth and sixth balls weren't good. Someone will do it again one day but it probably won't be any one of the above. |

| Well, the one who is going to break this records is probably in his dipers right now, not aware of Gibbs or the record he is destined to break. 30 years hence, when he breaks this record, I will remember this thread started by nostromo in WAT. Or may be the record will be broken tonight in the India-Lanka match. When Australia scored that huge total against SA, who knew that their impossible looking record wouldnt even last a few hours? A record, however difficult it might look, could be broken by anyone anytime. I remember Zaheer Khan hitting four consecutive sixes in one over. With abit of luck, he could have managed two more in the same over. It could be someone else some other day. Who and when are very difficult to say. But I am happy for Gibbs. I am a big fan of Gibbs and I am happy to see him hold the record.

| Would be a great feat to achieve, but cant see anyone doing it this WC tbh, really doubt it. in the future, as boundries are becoming smaller, players are using heavier bats...could see it happeneing again against a minnow team really, better bowlers would have more variation. |
