| World Cup group games: 18 March 2007 OK - there are two group games today, both starting at 1330GMT, and, on the face of it, both mismatches. But after yesterday's games and the Ireland v Zimbabwe encounter last week, who's to say what constitutes a mismatch in this competition? Comments here please on Canada v England and Australia v The Netherlands.

| Canada won the toss and have asked England to bat. And Flintoff has been suspended for a breach of discipline, at least to judge from the choice of words of Michael Vaughan talking to Michael Atherton a moment ago.

| England 84 without loss, hardly setting the cricket world alight at this stage, really dissapointing batting against a team like Canada. England need to post a good total, they have suspended their best bowler - or we might see Canada doing a Pakistan.

| Vaughn out in England v canada. 107 for 1 in 20th (5 an over) Australia have lost 3 for 119 in the 20th v netherlands (two new batsmen at the crease ) Netherlands have a glimmer, as do Canada. Could England go the way of Pakistan? Could Australia go the way of Pakistan?

| No and no, Richard! I can't see either of these teams turning over England or Australia, even on a disastrous day - which neither is really having.

| Three quick wickets for Canada there, and haven't we seen this somewhere before from England? Pietersen, Joyce and Vaughan just inexplicably giving it away. Didn't see Bell's wicket - but David Gower says that he "had a hand in his own dismissal", which sounds discouraging. I'm sure England are safe enough, but really they should have been looking for something around or above 300 against Canada, and now they are going to fall fifty or so short of that. Could do better.

| England close on 279-6, which should be safe. Australia, in the meantime, have amassed 358-5 against The Netherlands, with Clarke finishing on 93 not out and Hodge making 123. Stand by for a huge winning margin there.

| I thought England were poor against a pathetic Canadian "attack". Two of the bowlers were 40 years old and a few other players were not far behind. Their fielding was nothing special either and yet England failed to reach 300. |
