Woolmer's "inconclusive" PM

I just read on Cricket 365 that the autopsy on Bob Woolmer proved "inconclusive" - at least that was the statement by the PCB. I wonder what that really means. That site are inviting members to have their say on this.

NB: Moderators, I assumed that posting this here would be all right since that was an open, public statement by the PCB. If you think that it is inappropriate, please feel free to remove the thread.

The BBC is reporting this today as well. See report here. The police spokesman in Jamaica, however, while indicating that the death is being treated as suspicious, as any untimely death has to be, is not speculating on the causes. I would just repeat the same request I made when Woolmer died, namely that we avoid inappropriate and potentially disrespectful speculation here on what is clearly a major story.

Here is a link to a coverage on CNN-IBN....an Indian news channel:

http://www.zshare.net/video/conf-wmv.html

It all started when Geo tv, a pakistani news channel said that Woolmer has been 'murdered'- they used the word murder. Then PCB and the investigators in Jamica called the evidence/autopsy "inconclusive" and used the term "suspicious" to describe the death.

Its all a little confusing still. I saw an interview of Mrs Woolmer a while ago on CNN-IBN. She is upset. There is something wrong here....something suggesting that there is more to it than meets the eye. We will have to wait for more news.

Mark Shields, the Deputy Commissioner of Jamaican Police, seems to have quite categorically stated that he and his team are treating this case as suspicious. I doubt that a senior police official would have made such a provocative public statement unless he had some evidence to back it up. But of course, one must not assume automatically that there are other parties involved.

Well said OF,we don't want wacky theories and allegations being thrown about as that will just cause arguments to happen. It would appear it wasn't just a heart attack from stress which is what i naturally presumed when the story first broke but with it dragging on you just feel so sorry for Woolmer's family.

It is sad that this world cup will probably be remembered for the death of Woolmer rather than the cricket.

Truth is stranger than fiction, isnt it? In the last one year, so many times I thought that it cant get any worse for Pakistani cricket. Everytime I was proved wrong. Its like a movie story. Poor cricket fans have been badly hurt. We will not speculate in this thread but the media will play its role and all kinds of absurd storirs will float. I have no idea how the Pakistani players will play Zimbabwe today, but I hope they win this one.

Some suggestions have been made that unidentified marks have been found around Woolmers neck.

This does not look good, even if it comes out now that it was "natural causes" I think some people will still regard it as a cover up.

I heard on the Matthew Wright Show (British Day Time TV Show) that there is a rumour he was "Silenced" after decided to reveal information about match fixing.

Now I am not sure how much there is in this, but if that was the case then things have got very very serious.

I really hope Match fixing does not raise it's ugly head again.

I watched thenews break on BBC 24, and the jamaca police said "suspicious" did not mean "murder".

The truth is that until the pathologist has finished his investigations, we don't have the remotest idea what happened.

It is in the interest of the Woolmer family that the facts are made public as soon as possible, to end the speculation that is bound to follow a sudden death of such a famous person.

Angry

Rumours have it that 19 billion Pak Rs were riding on the match between pak and ireland.Rumour also has six top bookies flew into Jamaica a week befoe the first match. The sum comes to half a billion USD after conversion. Woolmer got to know of one of his team players selling out.. and was going to go public. His autopsy is inconclusive and this is the extent of the rumors i have heard here in Pakistan. Offcourse we cannot take any of this as gospel truth until there is evidence, however there is one player who was present when Rumors of Match fixing broke in Waseem Akrams tenure, that same player was leading our side until he declared his resignation for ODI cricket on the day of Woolmers death. what happened is anyones guess... why is Inzi so much in a hurry to get away is anyones guess as well!!
