Well it has been said that appliations has been revieved from England, Australia and the West Indies, however, Dav Whatmore is the PCB's no.1 choice.
PCB have said they do not want a local coach as he can get tied into internal politics

Dav Whatmore has been selected as the new coach for Pakistan. A new captain and coach.. perhaps this is a new chapter in our cricket taking form?

So its not Whatmore after all. Lawson is the man. He has not been to Pakistan in all of 25 years since his last visit with his Aussie side in 1982.

On a Sky interview he said he expect to be in Pakistan later this month.

So, apart from Bangladesh, all the SC sides are sorted as far as coaches are concerned. Whatmore on the other hand, is jobless. For now. India didn't want him, Pakistan don't want him, Sri Lanka has Bayliss.
