In my opinon the most likely batsman other than Ponting and Gibbs to reach the 200 figure would be or Dhoni, because he bats on batting paradises found in India, where there will be minimal bounce and movement of the pitch. Also he came close once when he hit a superb 183* off only 145 balls against Murali and co. Last edited by Colourful Chaddi : 11-04-2007 at 09:22 PM. |

| Well lets look at it this way then. Highest individual scores in an ODI match and the position they batted & where they played.
Gibbs - 175 & 153 Mark Waugh - 173 Wishart - 172* Gilchrist - 172 & 154 Turner - 171* Callaghan - 169* Lara - 169, 156 & 153 RA Smith - 167* Ponting - 164 Hudson - 161 Nazir - 160 Mongia - 159* Gower - 158 Hayden - 158 Jayasuriya - 157 Symonds - 156 & 151 Richards - 153* Azharuddin - 153* Ganguly - 153* Gayle - 153*, 152* & 152 Dravid - 153 Haynes - 152* Tendulkar - 152 Strauss - 152 Jayasuriya - 152 & 151* Chanderpaul - 150 Its funny that we are discussing skill over power or visa versa but there is a good mix of both in these lists.

| No Hayden ? The biggest and best bully on the block ? If he plays against a"minnow" on a road like sabina park, he could easily do it.

Personally, I think it will be Gibbs, Ponting or Gayle. |

| Viv 's in that top ten list twice! wow; what a player. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened before when they played 60 overs. (or even 55) With 50 overs it's a hard task. What are the chances for a twenty twenty 200? My guess? Well anyone currently playing on that list would do. I quite fancy Gibbs or Hayden, but why not Alistair Cook?

| well, I dont think breaking records is a big deal when you are playing against minnows. With the introduction of teams like Bermuda and others, any world class batsman has the potential to score 200 runs in an ODI innings. I dont know if this kinda record breaking inning is really worth anything?
