If Hayden's ODI form was this destructive earlier in his career, i'd back him to do so. But who knows...?

I doubt it will be anybody.
We are trying to be realistic here. There is no chance of Freddie ever scoring 200. Oh but then again perhaps one day Ern Flintoff will reveal that he is actually a god and maybe he will even take 11 wickets in a 1 day international.

Hi,
I think Hershchelle Gibbs will make this.He created a new record in this WC by hitting the most sixes.South Africa ha s a good player to their credit.

Also Hayden can make it.

Hi Watson. I agree with you . In fact, Herschelle has said that he would like to score the first double century in 1 day cricket. He already scored a double in a 25 over school match at the age of 16. However, if he continues to bat at 4 it will be difficult. I think that Hayden, Ponting could also score a double. I dont think that anyone will reach that feat any time sonn though.

Scoring 200 in an ODI is not simply a matter of the guy with the best strike rate. It also depends on his team, the sort of situations that he usually comes in and above all that feeling about the man's batting approach that we observers get. In that sense, I feel that Herschelle Gibbs or Chris Gayle are the most likely batsmen to be the first past this post; Ponting is probably third in the list of probabilities followed by Pietersen. Jayasuriya does not have many years of cricket left and might even retire after this World Cup.

It would have to be very soon, cos I suspect that Hayden is going to retire from ODIs after this World Cup, especially if Oz win it. Can't see him doing the 200 against South Africa, Sri Lanka or New Zealand.

Could be Flintoff Ern? He comes in at No. 6/7 which for a start is too late to get a double century and also I'd be impressed when he gets his next 50+ let alone 200!
