| Personally I can't see it happening but you never know Razzak has bowled well but I just don't think they have the depth or the superstars to win a world cup. Bangladesh have been brilliant they seem to have destroyed that minnow tag and have beaten some very strong sides along the way. Bangladesh's 2007 World Cup First Warm up match - Bangladesh def New Zealand by 2 wickets (New Zealand also had a full strenght side) Second Warm up match - Bangladesh def Scotland by 7 wickets 8th Match: Bangladesh def India by 5 wickets 16th Match: Sri Lanka def Bangladesh by 198 runs (D/L method) 24th Match: Bangladesh def Bermuda by 7 wickets 29th Match: Australia def Bangladesh by 10 wickets 31st Match: New Zealand def Bangladesh by 9 wickets 34th Match: Bangladesh def South Africa by 67 runs So Bangladesh has won 5 games out of 8, not bad beating some top class sides. The future looks bright for Bangladesh and hopefully this World Cup has shown them they have the ability to win matches against good sides. Bangladesh would have never dreamt of beating New Zealand, India and South Africa in the WC

Still, Bangladesh have done well in this World Cup and shown all concerned that they are moving in the right direction. |

| Bangladesh would probably beat England if the match were played in either Guyana or Antigua on the slow more "sub-continental" wickets. However, the match will be played in Barbados on a pitch expected to give more assistance to England's pitch hitting bowlers. It's likely that the Bangladesh batsmen will find themselves hopping around on the back foot, not something they enjoy doing too much. The fixture list assisted them pitting them against the Saffers in Guyana but it won't be helping them today. Last edited by Notts Exile : 11-04-2007 at 09:45 AM. |

| I think you are right NE. On the Barbados pitch, the BD batsmen could find Flintoff and Anderson a handful. I don't know if the BD selectors have taken the difference in the pitch into account in choosing the team and pick a couple of pacemen in place of the spinners. |

| well, dont forget that India and Srilanka were underdogs when they won the world cup...

| I don't think the England pitches can be compared to other places because of sudden changes of weather conditions that are possible here. In England, the pitch may behave differently from one day to another depending on cloud cover, wind etc. |

| Bangladesh wont win the world cup, but i think they shud no longer be classed as minnows they are much better than that.
