Perhaps that was the "one" exception, which I do not see repeated.

The victory by the England team over a major Test playing nation (the West Indies) yesterday shows that shock results are still possible in this World Cup . So I guess South Africa, Sri Lanka or New Xealand will now believe that they are in there with more than a shout to upset Australia.

I am expecting a great game if its between Sri Lanka and Australia with odds of 51/49. Sri Lanka will have the edge, but again, it depends on whose day is it.

SL might have competed on equal terms with Oz if Lasith Malinga was 100% fit, but I am not convinced that he is. A 2nd degree tear of an ankle ligament will take longer to heal and it is on his leading left leg, the one that takes the force of his action. Also, I think SL should use Fernando rather than Maharoof on the pacey, bouncy wickets at Sabina Park and (if they get to the final) QPO.

Yes but England had for the first time an attacking opener in Mal Loye, who was dropped for the World Cup after IMO he single handed changed England's fortunes.
Australia have to be put under pressure from the word go, or it's to late.

I can't in all honesty see any side left in the competition beating Australia, they look invincible.

If any team does beat Australia, Englands latest bloodletting will look like like a surface scratch compared to the subsequent witch hunt that will envelop. slap slap

I must have nodded off and had a nightmare the guys name is Malinga not Maralinga

IF South Africa manage to beat Australia, then they will go on to win the title irrespective of whether they face Sri Lanka or New Zealand in the final. Likewise, if Oz win their semi-final, they will keep the title. In other words, the winner of the second semi-final will lift the cup.

I can't see South Africa winning even if they beat Australia on Wednesday. In my opinion, it's a race between three teams.
