Alright then, Ireland were bowled out for 77 with Murali and Maharoof doing most of the damage. Sri Lanka are 26/2 after 3.2 overs, with Jayasuria hitting a six and Sangakkara departing shortly afterwards.

Sri Lanka win easily but Sangakkara needs a 100 in the semi final against New Zealand. He just has three 50's in the tournament so far, which is badly low. It's now or never for Sangakkara.

You say it as if his career is on the line. He averages about 38 for the tournament so far, which is more than his career average. Plus, his glove work has been second to none.

He sets very high standards and that average is not good enough I think. He made a few starts but never went on to make a big one. I think he needs a big one sooner rather than later. I don't think he has been in this sort of low form in the recent past. I guess he would be the first one to accept that. Yeah glove work has been very good. No doubt he will be part of this one day team for a long time but he needs a big one in the next game to make himself feel good.

I wonder why SL fielded? Batting first could have given them some practice before the semi-final, now almost a week away.

He is not a great one day player. His test form has been fantastic, averaging over 50. I know he hasn't been on fire, but since his glove work has been excellent, and his batting hasn't been dire, yet still acceptable. He does need a big score though, your right.

Against the Irish attack? Hardly a work-out considering they will probably face the best attack in the tournament at the semis.

Yeah, they should have batted first. What's more Marvan should have played.
