I heard that it's a pacey wicket for the final, which brings in people the two out and out quicks, Tait for Australia, and Malinga for Sri Lanka. My concern with Tait is that he can be wayward sometimes, and that just frustrates him even more. On Malinga's side, 4 wickets in 4 balls, we aren't going to forget that soon. McGrath and Vaas will also get something out of this, although I'm thinking McGrath will do more damage than Vaas. I personally think for Sri Lanka the batting comes down to two people: Sangakkara and Jayasuriya. If Jayasuriya can demolish the Aussie bowling attack like he has done, it puts pressure on the Aussies.

As for Sri Lanka there batting strength is Suria, Jayawardene and Sangakarra and in bowling Malinga and Murli If these five players for Sri Lanka Played at their best Australia will be in trouble. Because Malinga is difficult because he is bowling well and as far as Murli he is top class and can turn the game anytime. I will be happy if Sri Lanka wins their 2nd World Cup. Because they layed good cricket in past.

But if any 3 of the Aussie team plays really well Sri Lanka will lose.

I have a feeling that Sri Lanka has more hunger of winning the WC than Australia. For them, it will be do or die, and I am hoping they will win. !!!

Great contest i think.
Only on paper! In reality the Aussie batsmen are better equipped to handle the Sri Lankan attack. The Sri Lankan batsmen will struggle, particularly if the pitch has bounce in it.

I wasn't refering to the batsmen. I think that both attacks are very even.

id say sri lanka will have to bowl first and get some swing and stop bowlers like bracken from getting swing then when the pitche has settled go out and do what is needed. dont put maharoof in as he cant bowl at the death he trys to bowl bouncers at the death he has no bowling brains to go with his raw talent

The way I see it the only way Sri Lanka can win is if their top four batsmen fire. They don't have the depth in strength or explosiveness of the Aussie middle/lower order. The bowling attacks are evenly matched but with the pitch favouring Australia's attack it could be very hard for SL to score a decent total or chase one down. Even if SL rip through the Aussie top order it just well could be the day for Hussey to play the innings of the World Cup. Australia just have the knack of someone pulling them out of the proverbial S*** when the chips are down. Who knows SL could be belting the Aussies all over the park and someone like Clarke comes on and take 2 or 3 quick wickets. I'm hoping for a great contest but I think it would take a minor miracle on SL's behalf to even come close to beating the Aussies. Lets hope for the sake of cricket its a close match and to be honest I'd love for someone to wipe that smirk off Ponting's face.

I could not agree with you more. There has been a lot of talk about the Sri Lankan bowling attack being "strong" in this world cup. It may be, but I believe it will not be any threat to the Aussies. Two years back in the VB series finals, Murali's figures were 0-99 in 10 overs.
