| Afro-Asian Cup The Afro-Asian Cup starts today with the women's Twenty20 match between the two continents.I don't know much about the women's matches,but I would say that Asia should be able to beat Africa in the men's matches. Match Fixtures : 5th June - T20 Asia Women XI vs Africa Women XI (Bangalore) 5th June (night) - T20 Asia XI vs Africa XI (Bangalore) 6th June (night) - ODI Asia XI vs Africa XI (Bangalore) 9th June (night) - ODI Asia XI vs Africa XI (Chennai) 10th June (night) - ODI Asia XI vs Africa XI (Chennai) It should be quite interesting,considering the squads.

| The women's game is not on tele, but all the others are. I hope to watch the "A" men 20/20 tonight after work. Back to the women then. I dont know much about the Asia side, but surprisingly few Pakistani's. Will they play in front of men today? No issues there? There are 4 Safricans in the Africa side. Ashlyn Kilowan was last year's Female Cricketer of the Year. Pretty good left arm seamer as I recall. She wreaked havoc against the Pakistanis. Dont see Johmari Logtenberg in the side though...Wonder why? The Asian men side does seem to have more fire power than their African counterparts. |

| Easy win for the Asia women then. 105/9 in their 20 overs. African women could only reply with 45 in 15. Great bowling performance by Dhar. 4/8 in 4 overs, 3 wickets in one over. |

| Asia win the men's Twenty20 match as well.India restricted Africa to 109 then chased it down with ease in 15 overs.Dilshan did most of the damage scoring 42 of 36 balls.

| I thought Dilshan batted very well. The ball was doing a bit more than usual, and Morne van Wyk did get some good bounce. At the post match presentation Malik said he was impressed with the way Dilshan showed commitment...and then cut loose when the match was safe. Loots Bosman was the only batsman of the African's who showed some grit. I think today's ODI will see 2 completely outfits, although the Asians should still have the measure of the Africans. |

| Does anyone really care about these "senseless" matches which are nothing but money making ventures? |
| |||
| I do. If the money goes to the advancement of cricket on these 2 continents. Of the African countries, I think only SA has any REAL structure to their cricket. It will be great if the revenue earned can go towards the betterment of infrastructure for the "poorer" countries and boards. (and players, of course). |

| The Africa team would have been stronger had Polly and Smith not have their injuries, and of course Kallis opted out. On the other hand, it's only fair that the whole continent be represented, and although a team of only Safricans would have been more competitive, that kind of defeats the purpose then....although there are 6 Indians in today's side Anyhow, at the moment the Africans are 26/4, chasing 318. 2 Wickets a piece for Khan and Asif. |

| As I fanatsized before, Pakistan n India should've played an ODI series after their WC exit rather than getting into this boring crap of mis-match balance. I see three quarters of the stadium was empty all along the game, and players hardly displayed an enthusiasm. Its just a tasteless contest.
