If some of those were batting paradises you would expect all the bowlers to also get hammered. Anyway he isn't on that list.

Let's be honest. Yesterday wasn't one of Jimmy's better performances.

Look at the list of all-time worst figures: Martin Sneddon's on there, the day he went for over one hundred (in his 12 overs) one of the other NZ bowlers conceded fewer than thirty runs! Evidently Hadlee had a good day (as he so often did!) and Snedden was below par. Yesterday, Broad bowled well and went for just under five an over. The Windies batted well and Jimmy suffered a bit. It's not the end of the world, he just has to get it to happen less and less.

Anderson had a day to forget and also lost half of his match fee for being a pillock and barging the batsman for no reason.Personally i think he should have been fined 100% of his match fee and banned for a game,if that had been Powell on Bell there would be uproar from the English contingent on here but as it was one of ours it is swept under the carpet.

For me Anderson is testing my patience as his good games are few and far between these days.

I have a lot of faith in Anderson and his figures must take into account the unthreatening contributions of Yardy and (to a lesser extent) Mascarenhas (Collingwood should have dismissed Chanderpaul caught and bowled as I hear) in allowing Chanderpaul and Samuels to get well set for a late thrash at Jimmy (who bowled well until that point) and Sidebottom (who didn't). He does need to improve but he produces excellent performances more often than people give him credit for, and is three shy of 100 ODI wickets which shouldn't be discounted quickly when you think of the international experience of the rest of the bowling attack - the nearest to Anderson in the squad are Collingwood (64) and Plunkett (34 IIRC).

Sidebottom could potentially bowl well but Plunkett deserves his place so I would reinstate him and Panesar. I'd not be unhappy with Sidebottom playing but I favour the other two to make breakthroughs with the new ball and in later spells. Yardy certainly shouldn't play anyway.

Shouldn't have changed a winning team. We should have also batted first as we are not very good at chasing. I would also like to see Plunkett and Panesar back but Moores likes experience and it is Sidebottom's home ground.

The thing is Sidebottom has far more county experience, but little international experience. His two or three ODIs compares to Plunkett's 34, and as we all know the international game is a very different bag to the domestic one, so the experience factor isn't just one of having been in county cricket for longer and is negated slightly by Sidebottom's lack of international games.

We'll see what happens tomorrow.
