Ashraful won the toss and chose to field. Bangladesh are a better limited overs outfit and he said as much at the toss.

Teams:

Sri Lanka Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Chamara Silva, Tillakaratne Dilshan, , Jehan Mubarak, Farveez Maharoof, Dilhara Fernando, Lasith Malinga, Malinga Bandara.

Bangladesh Shariar Nafees, Tamim Iqbal, Thushar Imran, Mohammad Ashraful (capt), Shakib al Hassan, Aftab Ahmed, Mushfiqur Rahim, Farhad Reza, Mashrafe Mortaza, Syed Rasel, Abdur Razzak.

Vaas and Murali will not play the ODI's.

Current score 120/3 after 31 overs.

190/5 after 44 overs. Dilshan still in and SL might still post a decent enough total. Remember that they have a formidable bowling attack.

Sri Lanka eventually ending up with 234/6. Pretty poor considering their batting line-up, and pretty average considering the bowling attack they were up against.

Mortaza bowled well though. 2/31 off his 10 overs. Seems like it was the 5th bowler that let the Bangladeshis down this time.

According to cricinfo, the pitch is playing up a bit and Bangladesh will have to bat sensibly. Lets hope they do then...

BD are now 88/6 with the SL bowlers in full cry. Looks like that's that.

I was hoping for a better showing by the Bangladeshi batsman in the ODI's, although as I mentioned, the pitch was not the easiest...Was hoping for some application by them.

112/6 now. Yes, it looks like that is that.

Yep, Fernando got through them, took 4 and they won by 70 runs in the end i think, hope they fight back well in the last 2 ODIs, with no Vaas and Murali, a better batting performance to match the generally decent bowling.

Think they will win a game if they put im 100% effort in all areas, with a bit of luck too, but cant see a series win.
