England v India - Third one-day international, Edgbaston: 27th August.

Start 10-15am.

England and India level at one match each, but with Flintoff's knee injured England could be in trouble again iof he does not play - he is Engand's best ( and fastest bowler to date this series).

This will cost England if they drop a seamer for Panesar IMO, England did not lose by that many - and India can play bowlers of Panesar's type in one day cricket IMO.

I think "slightly" is an unserstatemnet, but nonetheless I doubt England will risk him - even if it is only his knee that is injured, and not his troublesome ankle.

Should be a tight game - India slight favourites.

If Flintoff does not play, he will be missed more for his bowling than for batting - he has not been firing with the bat for a while now. But with his dodgy leg, it is the bowling that is likely to be more affected in a heavily built guy like him.

Despite Tremlett's poor performance in Bristol, I agree with you that dropping him for Panesar would be a risk against India. Our batsmen can usually handle spinners under English conditions, especially in ODI situations. If the likes of Ganguly or Dhoni get Panesar's measure, a lot of runs could be scored.

I hope Flintoff doesn't play,if he has an injury then don't risk him.I would rather he was fit for the tour to Sri Lanka than a meaningless 7 game jamboree against India.

According to the BBC Flintoff has been rested as a "precaution" .

This will weaken Englands bowling significantly - we will miss his pace and bounce which has caused all of Indias batsmen problems.

Ern, I still think we should play Panesar (or another spinner) even against India. Its a chance of pace in the bowling which we need especaially now as we have no Flintoff. And from Collys point of view it may speed the over rate up .

I agree. Panesar must play. If England go with an all out pace attack again then Pietersen should get to bowl some overs. Anway, Panesar is in Flintoff out and Mascheranas is out with Shah coming in. Tremlett is given another chance( I would have gone with Lewis instead).

Dravid won the toss once again and decided to field first again. Game on.

Droping Panesar looked like a mistake but I dont think it was one. Indian batsmen would have scored another 40 runs had Panesar played. Ganguly would love to face a spinner on that kind of track.

I wasnt keen to play Tremlett either, he lacks courage "under fire". However with no Flintoff our bowling is lacking in pace and bounce and a bit one dimensional. Granted Tremlett isnt quick, but at least he has a bit of bounce and if Anderson gets it right he can be sharpish.

What was Pietersen doing? Gave his wicket away. It should be India all the way.

Chawla seems to have got into Pietersen's head. On fact he was clearly out ealier (the second Chawla lbw appeal) but Doctrove chose to give it not out.

Now that might be a chink in Pietersen's armour. Dwelling too much on previous dismissals by a particular bowler and letting it needlessly bug his mind.

Collingwood was given 'not out' in a ridiculous lbw where the ball was hitting the middle stump. Still think it is simply "one of those things"?

"India all the way" John? I think Mark Benson has strated the process to see that it does not happen.
