Rest of the England batting no better, Colly top with 38 NO, a typical England batting performance I am afraid. What a load on Shah.

| Well we thought chasing under the lights would be tricky but I don't think we can blame any of the wickets on extravagant movement off the pitch. I was happy to see Agarkar back in the team but how wrong that was!! He has been aided and abetted some pretty ordinary shots from Prior, Pietersen and Flintoff while the in form Bell for some reason left a straight one. I would like to give credit to the Indians who have been excellent with the ball. They have been feisty in the field and I've been very impressed with Powar who has bowled really well so far. Good to see him being prepared to flight the ball which did for Shah and I hope Monty takes a leaf from his book in future. As I write they have managed to engineer a run out of the skipper which probably makes it game. It will take a massive effort from Bopara to turn this round now. England unfortunately reverting to type in ODIs. Last edited by south beds mikey : 30-08-2007 at 07:41 PM. |

| Certainly not the finest evening for England. I'm reliant on radio coverage, but most of the wickets sound to have been given away rather than really taken. I doubt England can save the game from here with 97 needed off the remaining 25 overs, but with only three wickets remaining. Series remains very much alive.

| I get the same impression OF. I see the "old" England has turned up tonight. All they really had to do was knock the ball around, do nothing silly and they would have a great platform for victory. Instead they have all batted like millionaires and perished

| On the other hand ... 60 runs needed from 90 balls is hardly a problem, as long as Broad and Bopara can keep their cool. For a one day game, not my favourite format, this is good stuff, even with some poor early batting by England.

| Unbelievably England are probably now just about favourites. Surely Dravid has to bring back Zaheer Kahn now. No point leaving till the end when it might be all over. |

| Stuart Broad just got the "benefit of doubt" for a straigtforward lbw decison that Hawkeye showed was hitting the inside of the leg stump. It looked clearly out as well, but if course SBM et al will be talking about swings and roundabouts. How convenient! |

| When was that Nostro? I don't mean to "do a Wenger" but I didn't see that one. Who was bowling? Its still in the balance if Dravid gets Zaheer on. Whats he waiting for? |

looking at this though, England have won the lottery with bopara and broad, then got there get out of jail free card, then passed go and collected £400. to add to this, we land on "free Parking" after everyone else pays tax! Unbelieavbly good, calm batting by Broad and bopara. Broad, our new number 8 at Test level? Rest of England's batting flopped, folded. Colly pretty much ran himself out, but Bopara has resonded. India have thrown away a winnable game. I can only say it is down to a bit of good batting on Broad and Bopara's part and a bit of Naivety by the bowlers and the fielders. 6 to win from 24 balls. |
