The Kathik incident was well documented on TV; was in one of the tests, but I have forgotten the details.

Not really. Some years ago, when Flintoff was young and hot-blooded, he repeatedly and severely sledged and abused SS Das, a particulary mild-mannered and diminutive Indian opener with no provocation whatsoever other than that the little batsmen hit Flintoff for a couple of boundaries. There are many people in India - including my wife's cousin - who has this incident on tape; the sequence of events are so blatantly obvious that even the most patriotic (and patronising, if I maight add) English cricket fan will find hard to deny the facts. It might have been just coincidence, but soon afterwards Das suffered a complete loss of confidence and his career (which was admittedly not setting anything on fire) completely disintegrated.
When questioned about it in the post-match interview, Flintoff was singularly unapologetic and commented "I am not worried about him; I have his number"; whatever
that meant.
