Well done Pakistan restricting Aus to 164. Pakistan are more than capable in chasing this score. Malik captained well, bringing on the spinner to slow Aus down and then using Gul during the last 8 overs.

Game on here.

I did wonder who was there to score heavily at the death for Australia and there wasn't anyone.14 runs off the last 3 overs isn't good enough in 50 over games nevermind 20.

Should be interesting this game,Australia need to bowl with discipline to win this as they gave away a shocking amount of extras against Bangladesh, you can't afford to do that against a better side.

Question. I noticed that Pakistan took quite long to bowl their overs. What do the rules say. Does the opposition lose an over or 2 or does the captain get fined.

If Pakistan win here and lets assume that Bangladesh lose all their games, this will mean that Aus and Sri Lanka (last game in this pool) will be a quarter final.

Butt has been really poor IMO in this tournament. Why was Farhat not considered. Surely Twenty20 suits his game more. Now I understand why he turned his back on his country.

The reasons for Englands downfall since those 2005 ashes could be a very long thread.

But back to this game, Pakistan are crumbling here, they have some good hitters but they always seem to panic and hit out, I dont see them making it here.

Pakistan struggling here at 46/4. Clark is bowling superbly here taking 3 wickets in only 2 overs. News is that Ponting has pulled a hamstring.

Clark has probably been the best bowler in the competition, the others have stopped the no balls that they were doing previously too and they look the side to beat.

The Ponting injury if it is serious is a massive blow as there is no time to recover between games.

Crikey these games can change so quickly,46-4 and looking in trouble to 112-4 7 overs later and cruising.

What a game 20twenty is,so unpredictable.

Pakistan fighting back. 44 required from 35. Sounds easy but with only Afridi left to come (Akmal cant really bat) Pakistan have to be careful. Either Malik or Misbah need to bat through till the end.

Pakistan need to kick Butt out and bat Misbah up the order. Are there any other batsman in the Pakistan squad.

Edit: Aus's 5th Bowler going for 42 off 3 overs. With another over to come from either Symonds or Clarke, Pakistan should win comfortably from here.

Well both batsmen have seen it through, terrific batting by these two, batting to their potential, they haven't choked at all.

I wonder if it would have been different if Punter had been there...

Game over, terrific for Pakistan, and for the tournament.
