Yes, there's no pressure on the batsmen, no wickets down so it's all looking too easy unfortunately. The only thing from here is to just strangle Aus to at least take the 9 over win out of the equation.

England should not go through the motions here, they should work hard to learn for the rest of this game. This is the first time we've come up against a top team (India are decidedly average at the moment) and it's exposed our real skill level. England now qualify so they can now concentrate on just playing a good game.

That was about as abject a performance as you're ever likely to see. Flintoff the only player who comes out with any credit at all and aus back to their bullying best.

At least England have qualified so the players do have a chance to redeem themselves but a vast improvement required; the most dissappointing thing for me was we showed no pride or fight with the ball (Flintoff apart) and allowed our heads to drop in the field. Still roll on Sunday with another extremely difficult game against SA.

Remember the one day CB series in Australia - England started rubbish, but ended up winning the comp.

Not the best peformance, I think we know Broad is not in form, Kirtley can't be ditched after one match, and Schofield guided England through the important 9.3 overs.

Collingwood the bowler is a worry.

My bowlers against South Africa.

Anderson
Kirtley
Flintoff
Schofield

And the rest made up from part timers.

My main 2 worries are the opening partnership and Flintoff's fitness. We'll just have to see how Fred shapes up tomorrow.

The openers look a bit out of their depth to me but lets judge them at the end of the tournament. I really feel Pietersen should open; we only have 20 overs so surely it makes sense for your best player to have as many of them as possible.

Kirtley?

Why Kirtley?

What is the point of playing him? Short, skiddy bowler (with dodgy action) ideal for county standard batsmen - like Darren Maddy and Matt Prior, not ideal for international class.

I think I'd keep Broad. He is the future, he is different, Kirtley is... not.
