Absolutely not! He made his name opening to devastating effect in county cricket and has shown the ability to carry that to the best international one-day opening bowlers - how many other people do to Chaminda Vaas what Mustard did in the first game? He has only had four innings, give him a run and then judge him - as Prior had two good runs in a position he never plays in. His keeping has been excellent and the scores will follow - as opposed to Mal Loye he has more than just one shot and is a tremendously exciting prospect for our top order (and I would argue as a test no. 7 provided he can make big scores more consistently).

Fantastic series win - I thought we'd have a chance but these performances, particularly those of Shah, Swann and Sidebottom, have really exceeded my expectations! Well done lads.

Exactly, the bonus of him opening is that he does tend to score quickly and with Cook opening and being unable to score quickly its essential we have someone like him opening with total freedom to play his shots i also doubt that a so called "proper" batsman would be able to bat with that freedom.
