| u were right on the money Seamer when u said dhoni paid the price for having a runner and he later admitted to it. what a foolish move, he just had cramps and wanted to be fit for next match and i cant imagine what he was thinking calling for the single...though rohit sharma is to be blamed for not backing up in the crease... but isn't it sharma's and uthappa's call? just coz he thinks he can make it doesn't mean sharma can or should.what was pathan doing at number 3?? dhoni's explanation was so dumb... he dint want to tinker with the batting order as he wanted rohit sharma at number 4...i think the real reason was to give more time for uthappa to sleep in the dressing room, the guy who is an opener hasn't got a decent hit in 5 matches already.
what is with yuvraj playing that idiotic slog when he was looking to get back into form?i know it was there to be hit... go for it if ur 190-4 chasing 204 not 115-4 and a man there for the exact shot after he played a similar shot earlier !
meaningless aggression from gambhir when he was set!! what is with the younger lot of players around the world?i saw india capitulate again after almost losing at MCG,i saw australia self destruct, i saw srilanka self destruct, i saw england do it twice, new zealand once except that oram saved them. a good batting pitch and u play such loose strokes to hopes? i can understand if it was lee or johnson or even stuart clarke who induced u into the drive!!! is it that the youngsters are too carried away by slam bang cricket that they've lost patience to play the waiting game? and the IPL will probably make it worse with them having to hone more of these mindless skills and i really dont know why they are brutalizing bowlers with the free hit rule as no bowler would want to bowl no balls, its like adding insult to injury...as it is bowlers are already at a disadvantage in the shorter formats!!. a one odd 20/20 match is ok for entertainment but if it means batsmen play so irresponsibly...god help cricket!!!!
i had no problem if india took it to the last 4-5 overs gave a good fight and lost....but to capitulate in this fashion after possibly with a chance to win and then conceding a bonus point was really reallya dismal batting display !!!! really hats off to micheal clark and the way he played with wickets falling around him, in my books he has risen very very high as a player after this knock, couldn't have chosen any other person as the man of the match!!! |
