| Whats wrong with Aussie slip fielding? I had never seen so many drops in the slips. Australians are known for extraordinary fielding. They convert half chances into wickets. But now, in the last tests series and this CB series, they have dropped too many in the slips. Even today one went past Hayden at a comfortable height and he just stood watching.

| Their slip fielding hasn't been the same since Mark Waugh retired. |

| Has anyone ever fielded in slips when an extremely fast left hand bowler is bowling to right handers. Very easy to get unsighted. The bulk of those dropped chances have been off Johnson's bowling. Understandable under the circumstances IMO

| seamer....well i dont know about that explanation that johnson is fast and they let of catches. i didn't see that last season or so... whenever lee induced those edges...they were taken..lee bowls faster! i dont see too many missed opportunties dropped by indian slip cordon when ishant sharma bowls. sharma bowls mid 140's even clocking 149.7 in the game against sri lanka. the catches that indians dropped were coz tendulkar, uthappa are short guys like ponting and u cant do much if ur not tall enough. but hayden and gilchrist looking at each other todaywhen the ball went between them...or hayden dropping a sitter against sri lanka...well i dunno about that!!...maybe they need to look at the issue and sort it out. frankly speaking gilly took a wonderful low catch to finish off the indian innings...he's moving and diving better than most keepers around the world...maybe his concentration isn't the same!! |
