Well, it seems that these franchise owners are more interested in collecting big names than the best players. Tatenda Taibu's far superior to Kamran Akmal, among others, but because he's not that big a name (and perhaps because he's a lowly Zimbabwean) he gets overlooked.

i dont know whats going on Aurelius, I wish what ur saying was true to see a trend among the franchises....i mean scott styris is a big name compared to albie morkel who is kinda unknown.... and morkel gets 4 time the money styris is getting. styris is taken by hyderabad for a dirt cheap $280k...so i'm not complaining!!! hyderabad really is playing it nice so is kolkatta and chennai, bangalore. delhi, jaipur and mumbai owned by the richest man for a while mukesh ambani seem to be very sluggish.

P.S to my last post Like Dohni who I predict will be an "iconic" Indian star leading the national team as captain in all forms of the game Test's, 50 overs and 20/20. I predict Cameron White will do likewise for Australia. Michael Clarke may lead the test team for a while at some stage, but it has always been an unhappy marriage separating the Test and Limited overs captaincy in Australian cricket. Ponting successfully straddles both forms of the game, Michael Clarke does not have the power hitting to sustain a presence in a limited overs format of the game. Unfortunately for him that form of the game will have a much greater public profile. Hence I think that White who has the power and a big foot in the test arena due to Australia's current vacuum in spin bowling will be irresistible as Australian captain sooner rather than later. And wont Richie Benaud be pleased to see a leggy leading the side. Half as pleased as Bill Lawry who will be ecstatic about a Victorian. Last edited by acker : 20-02-2008 at 12:25 PM.
