| Saqi and Lahore
It's easy to find it out. Anyone who's not a Surrey or a Pakistan fan can go on Cricinfo and look it up. Saqlain Mushtaq, the off-spinner, was born in Lahore. He is also only 27 years old as people can also discover. So why not the Pakistani selectors? They have ruthlessly and i believe wrongly dropped him completely from the squad for the Lahore Test. Furthermore, before this Multan Test, Saqi had taken 24 wickets in just 3 Test against India at just over 20 runs per wicket. Am i starting to convince people. Does anyone else look like slicing through the Indian batting line-up right now and that includes the Australians too? The fact is that Javed Miandad is getting his own back and wanted nay excuse to drop the little bowling genius. Forget all the talk of a teesra, Saqi must get back to basics which he is very good at. Javed should remember his match-winning ten-wickets in Chennai and put the Multan debacle to the back of his mind. The opposite, however, has been the case unfortunately. |
