International cricket has always been scheduled during Ramadan and probably will continue to be... I guess those who organise or play in these matches are a lot less devout than the average Muslim!!!

I'm sure you're right about the scheduling, and maybe about the organisers and players. This match is in Pakistan, though, isn't it? Maybe the competition could have been moved up by a day to avoid Ramadan on this occasion? (Not that I have strong views about this, any more than I do about cricket being played on Sundays in England. It's really one for the local people in Pakistan to make their own minds up on. I'll leave it to them.)

There's a decent crowd nonetheless. Not easy to fit international cricket schedules around Ramadhan, as it is the start of the cricket season in Pakistan. To take a month out of the itinerary would be difficult.

The fact that it was a D/N match probably helped the schedule, since only a few hours of the match were in the hours of fasting...people were then able to break their fasts in the innings break and settle down to a feast of batting from Pakistan (or not, as the case actually was!)
