Domestic cricket in Pakistan is still not gettting enough TV coverage for my liking for it to appeal to the masses, even with the sponsirship deal in, not enough games are being show live on telly, may be there is a need for the PCB to sign a seprate contract with a sports channel
I just don't think that enough people would be interested in watching anything other than ODI cricket on TV. If the game is regionalised it would build up grass roots support and then without a doubt there would be support for local teams in the long run. No need for silly gimmicks like Dolphins v Lions. These are not bad ideas in themselves, but first we just need to get the concept of Lahore v Karachi or Peshawar v Rawalpindi in people's minds. Regional pride counts for a lot. I live in Newcastle so I know plenty about it!

I dream a lot of times about a full blooded pasionate rivalry between Lahore and us - I dislike it very, very much when either of the Karachi teams losses to either of the Lahore teams - there is potential here to develope a rivalry just about as strong and fierce as any of the other great sporting rivalries. Must be exploited.

yes, but how can you instill that rivalry?? it has to come from the individuals themselves, you couldn't go around spreading propoganda or something against another city.

The inter-city rivalry is already there. Just witness the number of complaints that players from Karachi get over-looked. The only thing that is missing is actual matches between rival cities. I don't like the Karachi whites and Karachi blues business much either. If you are going to have more than one team per city it should be a less sterilised name for each team. Even Karachi South and Karachi North would be preferable, although there's probably a much better solution.
