I've seen many a people find themselves in such a situation! One other person I know changed teams three times and he was related in one way or another to each of the three cities!

KA, I have heard some good things about Yasir Arafat. I am looking forward to seeing him play when he gets a chance. One other fact about Multan...it's the place where Alexander the Great's conquests came to an end I am pretty certain. I heard he received an arrow wound here (don't know if this is true) and his army turned back having had enough of elephants and mosquitoes probably.

Well that is true Shaka. Just do a google search for Multan+Alexander the great and you'll get plenty of evidence! By the way I'm impressed by your history knowledge! Also, its nice to see you keep your mum happy!

Yes bhai, he has performed consistently well in the domestic circuit. And of course, clubs like SS don't sign up every other player, do they? For a Pakistani player who has just played 2 ODIs for his country, it's quite an achievement. And according to PCB's National Cricket Rankings, Arafat is the third best bowler, behind Fazl-e-Akbar and Shahid Nazir.

I personally don't remember if the place was Multan but it is absolutely true that Alexander did get hit by an arrow in this region and scooted off further east.

I am in fact Scottish, and will be up there at the weekend. Their ground is very pretty and a wonderful place to watch cricket. Unlike Alexander, I don't expect many conquests for the Scots - but we live in hope, and Yasir's help will be much appreciated. I wonder if they will get him to wear a kilt?

Yes, very Mowlgli isn't it?...with your Sher Khan avatar this is starting to turn into the Jungle Book. Zainub, it's my dad's home city it would be pretty bad if I didn't know a bit about the place wouldn't it?

Apologies to Maranello btw, we are seriously side-tracking his thread!

Not a problem mate! Though I would like to split off the last few posts, which are specifically about Twenty20, into my other Twenty20 thread. Would that be okay with everyone? As I opened both threads, it is somewhat like taking from my right hand and depositing in my left, hence should be uncontentious enough.

Done, all set and go!

Returning to the topic (ie animal avatars!), my home town teams can quite correctly be either of Rawalpindi/Islamabad (Dad was grew up near there, I spent a lot of my childhood in that region); Lahore (was born there, mum was born and raised there and went to school there) or Faisalabad (both paternal grandparents come from Toba Tek Singh and still have some family in the countryside around there) - so I guess I am quite okay for teams to support
