| I find all these new found allegations of "egotism" against Inzamam rather disappointing. Inzi's anger was directed at the PCB and ICC, and their lack of communication on this matter of his selection, it didn't in my view represent his in ability to cope with failure or an inflated ego. Earlier when Inzi was asked what he thought of his omission from the RoW squad, I remember him being significantly less animated, and only saying something mild. on the lines of "I'm disappointed" and not much else. This is a normal reaction, and one that you would expect any other player to come up with too. His frustration now stems from the fact that the PCB had initially misled and later ignored him. First he was told and apparently convinced in certain terms that he was getting selected in both teams. Later the ICC refused to acknowledge the same. Following this the PCB did not feel it was its responsibility to inform Inzamam of the situation, something Inzi was rightly angered at. His decision henceforth to snub the Super Series was also perfectly understandable and in my view correct, not only for reasons mention above, but purely in the better interest of the Pakistan Cricket Team. Some how the PCB, in particular Shehrayar Khan has managed to calm him down, and force a change of decision from him, but I, like Captain, would have preferred things to stay the way they were. |

| Well Inzi made a total of 1 in 2 innings. The only player to manage less was Magill and he was not out in one of his. To say so much fuss was made of his initial exclusion he really didn't perform when it came down to it. |

| Sure, Inzi underperformed and had a poor Test, but so did most others. In any case, the fuss was made mainly about his exclusion from the ODI side, not the Test side, and rightly so. He would have been the first name on my ODI World XI, before the likes of Lara and Kallis, whereas in the Tests, there were many others who had as a good a case as Inzi who were not included (eg Chanderpaul). As such, Inzi's exclusion from the ODI side, but inclusion in the Test side, was nothing short of shocking. And though his performance was poor, I don't think anyone would be too concerned. He looked rusty coming into this game, not having had any competitive cricket, and not having the benefit of the warm-up game or the ODIs. He got out to an almost unplayable delivery from MacGill in the first innings, and was given out LBW by Koertzen in the second when the ball was missing leg-stump by quite a distance - Koertzen's refusal to refer it to the 3rd Umpire cost him his wicket - all part of the game, but nothing for Inzi to be embarrassed about.
