Sounds to me like he's going on a bit of an ego trip. He had a shocking series over here and I dont know why he expects the selectors to be treating him like a God...

Yeah I know, he made 1 and 0 in the Perth test...when the team needed him in the second innings at 3/23, he really fired, deciding to use his defence to a McGrath delivery two inches outside off, which he duly nicked through to Adam Gilchrist. I don't think Inzi commands respect from the World XI Selectors; do you hear Michael Vaughan, a man with an excellent record against Australia, complaining? No. And what about Youhana? He too has a brilliant record of late against Australia but we haven't heard a word of dissent from him.

Why can't Inzamam act in a much more mature way to this "snub", as he puts it?

Edit: He's decided to play now...I've already had this post reported so I'm not going to comment on his theatricals

Inzi is a legend and thats what we think of him in Pakistan, he has won many Matches for Pakistan and saved many as well, I rate him higher than Ricky Ponting and Micheal Vaughan.

Most sensible and neutral cricket observers would also rate Inzi much higher than Vaughan, and rightly so. However, he is probably at par with Ponting as a batsman and as a captain, both being alongside the likes of Dravid and Kallis, and just below Tendulkar and Lara.

You are right though, Inzi is a batsman of undoubted class and ability, and a pleasure to watch.

Apologies....I meant more of late, in reference to his 111 at Melbourne, in which he really dealt well with the Australian attack, unlike Inzamam. In the ODI's he played pretty well as well.

Just a brief thing or two I thoght you should know about his performances in Perth , Paoli.

Number of Pakistani players that also failed to make a decent score in that test match: all eleven that played
Number of times Pakistan have won a test match there: ZERO
Frequency of times Pakistani teams have been shot out for low scores there: Many

On a different note, I am furious with Shehrayar Khan. It's all his fault.

Inzamam has decided to play.

From Cricinfo report:

Quote:
Inzamam-ul-Haq, the Pakistan captain, has finally agreed to play in the ICC Super Series one-off Test against Australia in October. The Pakistan Cricket Board released a statement saying Shaharyar Khan, chairman of the PCB, had spoken to Inzamam and explained the background of the genuine misunderstanding regarding his selection for the Super Series squads.

Inzamam said he agreed to feature in the Super Test to improve Pakistan's image. He told reporters, "I did say that I would not go but after being convinced by the chairman that my participation is necessary for the better image of the country, I have decided to tour Australia."

What is wrong with the Pakistani captain? He says before the squad was selected that it was an honor to play in the series with other superstars, but later when he is dropped he says he was deeply sadden. Then after he was put back into the squad he refused to go because of his ego. Now becayse he was sweet talked by the PCB, he wants to play again for the sake of the country.

If I was Inzimam and wanted to do something good for Pakistan i would never go to the meaningless super six series. What good will Inzimam get from this series? i would rather not risk myself of injury so then i would be fresh for the series against England. I am certain Pakisnati supporters would rather see a winning century from Inzimam against England then a century agianst Australia in the super six series.
