Will Afridi Absence makes the difference?

Did you Think that the absence of afrdi in 2 odis makes the difference and will make affect?

i think it will beacuse afridi is a real ODI player and play like the ODI player should play what do you think?

Of course it will...Afridi is the kind of player who can give you ten wicket-taking overs and score quick runs, something which is needed in ODI cricket. On his day, there is no more destructive cricketer than Afridi.

definitely, he is a very handy bowler, and when it comes to batting, well he can be brilliant some days, and awful others, but thats ok.

Afridi is a fantastic ODI playewr and his record over the last 18 months backs that up. Any team will miss him because he bats bowls and fields with such energy. I still think we'll win anyway, England seem to be a bit muddled with their line up with so many players coming and going.

I don't think Afridi missing 2 games will make much difference. If you look back to the summer one day games England used virtually the same 6 bowlers through most of the games Gough,Harmison,Jones,Tremlett,Flintoff and Giles.4 of those are missing from this series so England will have a hard time coping against a good one day side in their own backyard whether they have Afridi or not.My prediction 4-1 to Pakistan

I'd have to agree. Pakistan have built a very formidable ODI side packed with allrounders, of which Afridi is only one, albeit no one can take a match away from you so quickly. Last time he batted in India the game was over in the first 10 overs of Pakistan's innings.

Pakistan have a better one day side than England at the moment. England don't seem to have a clue what they are trying to achieve in One Day cricket. Or if they do they don't seem to know how to achieve it! On the other hand, Pakistan have some very good batsmen who are adept at adapting their games. Afridi may be missed but only if KP, Tresco and Freddie come up with something special. Because of those three there is always the chance England might do something impressive. It could be a good series, but it could also be a whitewash!

I agree with this, Shaka. May have been part of England's undoing in the test series as well. I know it's not politically correct to say it, but that's never stopped me before: I really am not happy about this "part-time touring" for prospective fathers. Strauss never had his mind on the job in hand while he was in Pakistan. It's got to stop and we have to get back to fielding consistent teams - injuries excepted, of course - for each series. I hope England will be able to field an unchanging ODI side for the five ODIs. That might give them a chance of taking a game late on. I think Pakistan will take the series comfortably, however - 4-1.
