Not bad for a debutant...

23 year old Asif makes his ODI debut today, and his first spell in ODI cricket was:

7-1-14-2

Not bad at all... being seriously economical, on-target, and getting wickets too. He seems to have out-bowled both Naveed-ul-Hasan and Abdur Razzaq so far, which is impressive for a debutant.

England 46/2 after 15 at this stage.

well done

I am proud of Mohammad Asif. He bowled really well. But there is something i didnt like. His action like the commentaters said his left arm goes down to early and head is pointing at gully. I think Waqar should help out Asif.

my best wishes for him ..he is a gutsy player and has shown it in australia not with the ball though but with the bat in his hand ...
his partnership for the last wicket with asim kamal was very good which included a big six over warne also
i think bob woolmer shouldnot have replaced him with danish as he is very good with the bat also and might have won the game for us

Interesting point that you make about his batting, I had kind of forgotten how he played in his debut. The substitution was a bit questionable, yes, the wicket was assisting the spinners, but what could have Danish achieved in 3 overs? Made much more sense to continue with Asif.

Why is kaneria bieng included in the odi team....

Arshad bowls well within himself and has proved that and besides that kaneria is a worst fielder ..
he should only concentrate on the test matches like warne

At this stage I am inclined to agree with that view, Arshad Khan has proved him self capable of adding much more to the team with his bowling, fielding and batting combined then Danish in his brief one-day career.

Saqi Bhai

If Danish should concertrate on just Test cricket we need a back up spiner. How about Saqlain Mushtaq I like the way he bowls and spins. He is a true bowler. He should be on ODI shouad.

Have we all forgoten about Saqlain Mushtaq? His exelent spin ok so what if he bowled bad one match against INDIA oh yeah it was a TEST match. That was his last match. He needs more chances and is still good player. Come on Woolmer bring Saqi back. For one ODI amtch against India . I hope Saqi gets anathor cahne
