| it got to be sultan of swing the great akram(Purely on bowler) but if you ask me in overall ability as a player then the legendary Imran for his batting and fielding (captaincy too)

Regardless of who is the best individual bowler,if you picked the all time Pakistan team then Wasim,Waqar,Imran and Qadir would be a pretty formidable attack to contend with and would arguably be the best any side could produce throughout the world.

Surely it's Wasim Akram. Last edited by Karthik : 19-08-2006 at 10:37 AM.

Wasim Akram as well. He was unstoppable in his prime, and is unique in having taken 500+ ODI wickets, and a true great in the test arena with 400+ wickets. Even in one of his last games- in the World Cup against Australia, he was bowling well for some time.

Imran Khan all the way. He played in an era where batsmen hadn't developed the habit of throwing away their wicket as a result of ODIs. He had it all...excellent pace, a great inswinging yorker, a great leg-cutter and a fearsome bouncer.

I wasn't basing it off the deliveries in the armoury - I merely rattled off what Imran had. Fact still remains that he played in an era where batsmen put a price on their wicket, not like in the late 90's and today where batsmen were afflicted with ODI syndrome and that is my basis for considering him the best. Akram may have had the variety but if you look closer 400 odd test wickets in the number of games he played doesn't do justice to his talent.
