Well, I always used to like Javagal Srinath, and before him, Prabharkar. Nowadays, I think my favourite Indian player is Anil Kumble. I think I like the same thing about these players, they quietly get on with the game, racking up wickets and even a few runs with the bat whilst the glory goes to Tendulkar, or before him Kapil Dev or Sunil Gavaskar.

I don't know who would be next in line for the title of my favourite Indian player. Anil can't have too many years left in him. I guess Ajit Agarkar may be the next in line, but I don't think he's going to be an Indian team regular for too long - if ever again!

Definatly Anil Kumble, its amazing that a player with so many wickets can not be noticed as much as lesser players in the side. when most people think of the indian side they look at the batting line up. Kumble is not a flashy spinner he doesnt have the ability to turn the ball a long way like a Warne, but he is very smart and wears down the batsman with good line and length and mind games.

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. There are a few who might come close, but if I have to pick one player, it is Tendulkar.

May be we should watch for Tondulkar, this kid from Mumbai, apart from his last name rhyming with Tendulkar also has records rhyming with Tendulkar at school level.

fave player

my fave indian player has got to be yuvraj. hes an improving player all the time. a top fielder, if not their best, has leadership abilities with the bat, and is now showing he can certainly bowl, as he showed in the recent series with England.

I really dont know what exactly leadership qualities with bat means but yes Yuvraj had definitely matured as a player. Except that odd faltering against spin he had been performing consistently and most importantly had been producing match winning knocks in recent times.
