Pak against a 20-20 WC...

Am really confused as to why Pakistan is supporting India's stance of not having a Twenty20 WC. The PCB seems to be actively promoting this form of the game in their domestic setup and I can see that the crowds love it too...

It does seem strange considering the event would last only 9 days. Apparently, many players believe Twenty 20 should only be played occasionally at International level. They don't see it as a legitimate form of the game and prefer to play in them as promotional series openers. Pakistan and India obviously don't want to help legitimize Twenty 20 as it could effect attendances to ODI matches which is their major revenue earner.

I don't see any harm in playing a quick 9-day tournament which will promote the game better than its currently promoted. I just don't want to see it ruin one-day cricket. I think the format is great for domestic competitions and a bi-annual international tournament would help promote the format as it would gain television exposure.
