Current concern

The pakistan pool of players are very less. There are only very few bench players who can replace the players if they get injured. I think the pool should increase to 20 players, so that players can selected for the World Cup and players can be rested and injured players can be replaced.

Well you dont need all the 11 same players to play against Bangladesh or Zimbabwe. Can give 2 to 3 players a go on the matches against them and also playing against associate countries. Also, players like Sami, Aktar, etc should not be put out of the team, but be represented.

I have a feeling that Pakistan is not giving enough opportunities to younger players. But its too late to do that now. Right now the time is to focus on developing 15 good players for the world cup hoping that there wont be too many injuries. And I think Pakistan will be ready with 15 good players for the WC.

We have to give old cricketrs chances. NOt age but players that played a couple of years ago not just form wise.

Here are a couple of people I think Pakistan need to recall

Imran Nazir ( DEFINTLY)
Yasir Hameed
Moin Khan
Mushtaq Ahmad (Defintly
Saqlain Mushtaq (MUST give him a chance a pakistani great bowler)
Huyman Farhat
Fasal e-Akber
Khalid Latif

Heres a couple we need to recall some of these are MUSTS like Saqi and Nazir

I too agree. Well one might say that there are less matches right now or cannt play against superior sides etc. One way to deal with it is to play around 5 to 10 matches against the associate countries in a year and play the bench players and the players like Imran Nazir, Yasir Hameed, Moin Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad, Saqlain Mushtaq,
Huyman Farhat, Fasal e-Akber, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Sami, etc against them. The good thing is that these players will get more matches and also couple of youngsters. Also, the pool of players will also increase if more players who are played. I don't understand why players like Mushtaq Ahmad and Saqlain Mustaq are not given chance. Well if you might say there are couple of players better than them, then why not play them against matches against Bangladeh, Zimbabwe, and associate countries. These are World Class Players. The should defenitely play a couple of matches in a year.

A agree with you on most counts. I could never understand why Saqlain and Mushy are not playing. No spinner in Pakistan's current team can match upto these two. Saqlain in particular is a great bowler and deserves better treatment from PCB. I have no idea on what ground he is kept away from the team.

Moin khan might not get a recall as the current wicket keeper Akmal is doing very well both with the gloves and with the bat. Pakistan will need a backup keeper for the WC but it wont be Moin. Someone as senior as Moin can not be used as a 'back up' keeper, if he is in the team, he must play.

If I were the Pakistani selector,I wouldn't relax whether It's Bangladesh or any other team because it's risky since it's the world cup.

Remember,Kenya reached the semi-finals of the world cup last time.

Inzamam seeks rotation policy to avoid burn-out

http://content-ind.cricinfo.com/paki...ry/245477.html

Players have started to call for rotation. Rotation is a good policy if done wisely.
