Rana pretty much certain of a test recall now..

Rana Naved-ul-Hasan has just been named Player of the Month for his performances for Sussex. (and along with it a nice bonus of £750.00) He took 27 wickets in 3 matches in May, including 11 wickets vs Yorkshire. http://www.pcboard.com.pk

Meanwhile, Shoaib is has been told to give cricket a 6-week rest, but he feels he'll be ready by the 3rd test, to be played at Headingley. http://news.bbc.co.uk

The way Rana's performing (and even Asif) I think they might do a bit better than just "cope"...

Rana, IMO, is making Sussex win matches with his pace bowling. Mushy as well later on, but it is often Rana who takes all of the wickets early on and gets the openers out when few other Sussex bowlers prevail..

He credits the opportunity to ruffle the feathers of England's batsmen for a second series against the side on the trot. The loss of Shoaib Akhtar is a big wicket taking loss, and especially when the ball is giving no sideways movement. But if the ball is just a little bit then I think Pakistan have it covered without Akhtar.

It shows that you dont need to be quick to open the bowling and be successful. I hope he has a good series

i think rana should be added to test squad coz he can handle the spin of english wicket ...... and with asif, we all know about the mayhem of asif's bowling on swinging wickets, pakistan will not feel absence of ahoaib
