Can we ace the champions trophy?

IF

Imran Farhat could resist the temptation of chasing wides,
Hafeez stops trying to hit a six on almost every delivery,
Shoaib Malik refrains himself from throwing bat to out swingers,
Inzimam stops shuffling too much across the stumps ( and getting LBW ),
Afridi learns how to play (or leave ) good length deliveries pitched just out side the off stump,
Rana Naveed could get back his swing,
and Shoaib Akhtar could concentrate more in building his stamina, and control his line and length rather than acting like a hopelessly romantic kid, then yes,

we prolly can reach the finals at least. (see how big that if is ?)

I dont agree, i can do a similar synopsis on any team in the world, each player does not have to overcome their most dominant weakness for the team to perform brilliantly, usually what happens is that even 2-3 of the players mentioned get their focus in right for the particular game and pak wins. Heck if everyone was on top of their game we wouldnt lose a single match all season.

Will be an interesting tournament for rana naved i feel, as he mostly bowled pakistan to victory wen pakistan toured india and got man of the series award. That is something. a bowler getting that award in an odi tour of india. He does well in india and could be a key man.

I don't mind him acting like that at all ...

Anyhow, I agree with you on some points. From an outsiders point of view anyhow, the following, if you don't mind...

Farhat does what most lefties do anyway...
Inzi, like Ponting, Lara, Gibbs etc etc...all unfortunately have this nasty little habit of doing that early in their inning
I just want Afridi to go out there and HIT HIT HIT...if he plays any other way, he gets out anyway...
Rana will get his rhythm back...Thats for sure.

I'd like to see only ONE opening pair for Pakistan at the CT. Preferably Hafeez and Malik. Followed by Younis, Yousuf and Inzi...Followed by Razzaq, Afridi and Akmal.

Now THAT is a side that can win the Trophy...with a little bit of luck of course...
