Oh, thanks Zainub! Unfortunately my Urdu begins and ends with a couple of phrases!

Okay then, I am very happy there is no palace revolution. I think you might just be right there: Younis acted in haste...and there's always a big ole problem when one acts before thinking things through.

Would be nice if you could post a couple of those "select phrases" from the eye-witness accounts.

Ah well, if you insist, here is the report linked above translated in full to the best of my efforts!

Younis Khan's decision: when did it all happen, an eye witness account
Lahore (Sport Reporters): Pakistan Cricket is full of dramatic events. Yesterday the situation got very strange and unusual when as per program sports reporters and photographers from the entire of Lahore reached the Gadaffi stadium to find Younis Khan arrived at the board office half an hour before the scheduled start of the press conference at 11 o clock. He had come via the National Cricket Academy in a PCB pick up. After sitting in the room of one of the officials of the PCB for a while he came and sat in the press conference hall along with coach Bob Woolmer 20 minutes prior to scheduled start and started waiting for all the journalists to turn up. During this while the nearby seated Bob Woolmer repeatedly kept trying to explain something to Younis though apparently in vain. On one occasion Younis even shrugged of Woolmer's hand, after this the story whose consequence resulted in the awarding of new responsibilities to Mohammad Yousuf and Abdur Razzaq started. At 15 minutes past 11, director cricket operations Saleem Altaf and manager Talat Ali, whilst quickly climbing the stairs reached Younis Khan's room in the National Cricket Academy but returned unsuccessful 40 minutes later. They left for their own rooms on the second floor while deeming it fit to shrugg off questions from the waiting media with a flat 'no comments'. At 15 minutes past 1, Inzamam ul Haq reached the there at the special requirement of the PCB along with Mustaq Ahmed, and both together tried to persuade Younis Khan not to withdraw from captaincy but the negotiations did not bear fruit. During this interval Bob Woomer spoke to the media and informed them of Younis's refusal to ever become captain again, and that some one else will take charge of the team in his place now, but who this might be had yet not been decided. At about this time Shoaib Akhtar turned up, he remained in the PCB lounge for a total of 20 minutes where he engaged in a conversation with Mrs. Shereyar Khan for about 10 minutes. This led to new rumors that Shoaib Akhtar might be given the captaincy. At 3 o clock both Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf came to the Gadaffi Stadium together via the National Cricket Academy. After a while, Inzamam and Mushtaq Ahmed also came. After this chairman Shehreyar Khan's room acquired the state of a meeting room. Turn by turn everyone kept coming and going in his room. At 30 minutes past 3 Yousuf and Younis left. During this while, a decesion regarding a new captain and vice captain was made. Amazingly enough Abdul Razzaq was unware of the all these developments prior to half past two. At 15 minutes past 4 Saleem Altaf and Talat Ali also left the stadium and told the media as they left that Younis Khan would hold a press confrence at half past 4. At 45 minutes past 4 Abdul Razzaq turned up at the stadium, five minutes later, Mohammad Yousuf followed. Then they both had a meeting with Shehreyar Khan behind closed doors. 15 minutes later Yousuf emmerged from the room and left saying that he will accept any decesion the board takes. At 5:25, Bob Woolmer, Shehreyar Khan and Younis Khan finally again came to the media centre for a combined press confrence. Abbas Zaidi also accompanied them. In this way, the question and answer session continued till Aftar* time.

Your wish was granted though not in full, Younis Khan has spoken but refused to go in the details, as expected (column at Bigstarcricket just out, can be read here)

He's also said he's very close to completing a deal with Yorkshire CCC to play as captain for them next season in place of Darren Lehmen (who retired at the end of last season) but a/c to Cricinfo this revelation could not yet be confirmed by the club it self. Cricinfo quote Stewart Regan, the chief executive of the club, as saying Younis is just some one they are "talking to".

Hmmmm...I also read he has agreed to captain Yorkshire next season...

I don't think he's gonna come out with what is was that really upset him that way.

But I can't wait for him to stop playing cricket now...For a tell-all book to come out, of course

A book. Oh, not sure a book is going to come out any time soon. Younis Khan isn't exactly the kind of fellow you'd think would write (or ghost write even) a book. Not sure any one of the players in this team are book-writing kinds to be honest. But yeah, it would be interesting, no doubt, if such a book ever came out.

That article is very interesting and shows us that younis is still commited to the team. He hasnt commented on mohammad Yousaf's captaincy which is interesting. Also, his last sentance shows that he is still on goof terms with Inzamam. I know he would have made a good captain to the Pakistan team, following Inzamam. Roll on Champions Trophy and heres me wiching for a Pakistani win.

I wonder if Younis ever holds a press conference and steps down from captaincy if his choice of players are not included in Yorkshire's side.
