Younis Khan

He has refused to captain the Pakistan team in the ICC trophy.

Wonder what is going on there?

Weird story on cricinfo, citing a number of personal reasons, which everyone then declined to go into!

I am with Bob Woolmer on this one...He is quoted on the PCB's site as follows:

What I am NOT happy with, is the following from the PCB:

politics politics.... thats all pakistan team does... anyways... yunis khan is apparently miffed at faisal iqbals inclusion in the team without his approval or maybe he has been told inzi will be running the show while he captains.. from the dressing room. Normally Yunis khan is quite a bubbly charecter so something must have really irked his anger for him to take such drastic action. Well without him the Pakitan team are going to be quite weak as he is one of their mainstays in the middle order. the PCB has meanwhile put its hoof in its mouth again.

wanderer... how sad are ya that yunis wont be playing :P

Yes, this is really very awful for the team. Already without Inzi, and now the PCB are making these weird kind of rumblings about Younis' position for the series' against the Windies and South Africa also bein in jeopardy. What do they think they're doing??!!!

The only reason why I'm gonna spend half my salary for the tests in Durban, is to get a chance to see Younis!

Anyhow, I see he only said one sentence at the press conference, and stormed out....Now, everyone seem to agree on one thing: It HAD to be something really big, to get this usually bubbly, affable character to act like this...

Sad, sad...And if Younis doesn't play...out of the windows blows Pakistan's chances at the CT...

I suppose he's the next in line anyway...But this is really not what Pakistan needs at the moment...Anything controversial I mean. This is beginning to feel like the last World Cup...

STUPID STUPID STUPID !!!!

THis is why we need a stronger and mroe representative board. I blame The PCB directly on this, I felt Inzi should have been done after the Ovalgate aaffair as captain and it was time to give Younis the helm. I personally think the problem probably was a combination of Inzi's back room doings as well as no consultation over Faisal Iqbals selection. THe row with Shahid Afridi played a part with Faisal Iqbal, and Younis wanted some authority.

However it would be foolish for the PCB to dro such a great player, and if they were to listen to me they would handle the manttle over to Younis before the day is done. Act quickly and swiftly, or this will drag out for a long time and all the time invested by Bob and money by PCB will go to waste.
