Its the leg-breaks, actually...

Shock shock horror ...

Shahid Afridi has scored 4860 runs in 230 limited-overs matches with four centuries and 26 half centuries, but the man himself thinks it's his fastish leg-breaks that earned him 192 wickets that's the main component of his game.

Well, here's hoping he gets to that 200 mark in the CT.

Afridi did make his debut as a bowler who could bat a bit; breaking the all-time fastest century record in his first ever international innings did somewhat upset the applecart there though! I do agree though; his strength is bowling 10 overs quickly for not many runs and picking up 1 or 2 wickets; that is by far the more reliable part of the "Afridi package", as his ODI batting is just a lottery.

No, he's not...But I am afraid way too many international cricketers are falling into this trap...

Anyhow, you are right of course as far as Afridi's concerned. Since that explosive debut, we (fans) have been wanting to see THAT whenever he walks out with a bat in his hands...Totally unfair, of course.

lol just because batting doesnt work.. he chanes the focus to his bowling.... he was taken into the side for what he known best for.. going nuts on an oppositions bowling attack.. the guy also holds the record for highest number of sixes hit. Plus the ones already pointed out... i dont think he holds nayhting for his bowling although he is a good partnership breaker.

lol.....you made me laugh aloud there.

I am not sure if too many of his fans take him as a bowler who can bat a bit. Afridi is known for his batting even though he does not make big scores frequently. But he can definitely contribute well with the ball. I think his bowling abilities have been underestimated by the various captains he has played for.
