Pakistan ring changes for Tests

I am baffled, can anyone tell me why Rana Naved, has been dropped!! Surely with the loss of Asif and Akhtar, Naved's place in the team becomes more critical..

Is anyone else as baffled as me?

It does seem a bit strange but they must have their reasons for it.

If they go and win easily then the selectors will have been right but should the lose they fans won't be happy.

At least there is no place for Sami.

Rana naved i think has been dropped because of poor form. that and not having established himself yet in test cricket could be the reasons why. I am interested in our new left arm seamer saimullah niazi khan. he recently took 11 wickets in a first class match and also impressed in the silly warm up games in the tours against england. i also see that shahid nazir has come back in the team, however this team in terms of bowling is not looking threatening.

Well its not threatning in terms of shoaib like pace or asif like swing but niazi is a very good prospect.. im quite excited to watch him play. Rana has been dropped because he has not been performign well at all.. im not baffled at all.. bout time we ask our players to perform or get out.

I for one am not baffled at his absence. I am baffled as to why Yasir Arfat is not in the squad, instead of Nazir.

The squad for first two tests:

Imran Farhat, Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Danish Kaneria, Samiullah Niazi, Yasir Hameed, Shahid Nazir, Faisal Iqbal, Abdur Rehman, Umar Gul, Shoaib Malik.
