Sorry - wasn't suggesting White would qualify.. was just curious: is it him that started life as a 'keeper before becoming first a batsman and then a bowler... and if not him then who?

I know there was one Enlgand player....

On the front of other contributions to this team.. i should have got Tresco.. but now I'm completely at a loss :-(

Not too sure about White being a keeper, but what I do know is that he started life as an Off-spin bowler. Started bolwing quicker in the nets and then added batting to his armoury.

Hussain and Atherton both started out as leg-spin bowlers. Both Giles and Tufnel first got noticed as quick bowlers.

Stewart was always a keeper, in fact when he joined Surrey in 1983 he wasn't considered a batsman at all. At schools cricket level had only one century to his name (Tiffin's has a hundred board - he was on it just once when I looked).

AB didn't set the world on fire, but he did a commendible job. At least no one got 19 off him in the over. The commentators thought it was hilarious.

Taibu took 2-42 against Sri Lanka in May last year, amazingly the best figures with some skiddy medium pace...the amazing thing though was that Taibu started that match with the gloves, then gave them to another specialist keeper, Al Maregwede when he had a trundle.

Rod Marsh once took three wickets (a hat-trick from memory) in a short match against Scotland, probably on the 1981 tour. The commentator apparently described his bowling style as left arm over the wicket, very, very slow and straight.

Didn't Tim Zoehrer often take off the gloves and purvey some quite tasty leg-breaks. I'm sure I've seen him bowl.
