Who are the most promising south african fast bowlers today?

The SA attack at the moment is ordinary. Pollock generally considered to have last a yard or two over the past couple of years. Nitini and Nel are useful without ever being explosive ie taking 5 wickets in an innings.
There is no sign of youngsters coming through. I looked at the A match they are playing in NZ and none of the bowlers seem to frightening records. It might be a while.

I think you're being unfair on Ntini there. His record of taking five wickets in an innings is very similar to Pollock's.

I've mentioned on another thread that I don't believe any nation has a decent supply of back up bowling should their front line get injured. We've seen the Aussies struggle this summer and the Windies and the Kiwis in 2004. South Africa are probably no worse off than anyone else.

What's Garnet Kruger like? He's supposed to be quite useful.

You are probably right about Ntini he is a bit better than I have given him credit for. But still his figures aren't outstandingly impressive. They are decent. Add to this the decline of Pollock's bowling and Kallis.
So overall the all round attack without a quality spinner is ordinary. Though I have mentioned on other threads as you do besides the Aussies and the Poms we can give all other sides a match which isn't a bad starting point.

Zondeki and Ngam are both very pacey and good
