South Africa Vs Australia

Will they be competitive when they come over to Australia .... if not its going to be a boring Summer here in Australia as the West Indies are down right embarrasing

Well we are better than the WI both in bowling and batting. Having said that SA will have to play above themselves to give Australia problems. The only side that can go to Australia and be a serious threat is England.
This is a better tour for me than the last one to Australia when too many South Africans thought we would do well. The expectations are much less this time. And if we do give the Australians a game it will a bonus. There are some players who are touring who will feel less pressure and hopefully more relaxed.

Hmmm SA. IF, they can play to the sum of there parts they could cause an upset. But its a big if.

I don't think I would predict an upset in terms of a SA victory, but I would expect them to give Australia at least something of a fight. Probably more so than the West Indies will.

Its hard to see how they cant, mainly in terms of bowling. SA have Pollock, Ntini and improvers in nel and langervelt. The only thing they lack is a decent spinner, and a bit more consistancy.

I certainly think that the South Africans will be competitive with the Aussies. They will most definitely do better than the WI have done in their very recent tour of Australia.

I am hoping that South Africa will be able to win a Test or two.

I think South Africa will struggle to win a test,yes they will be better than West Indies but that isn't difficult at the moment.The key for South Africa will be getting enough runs on the board as i can't see the bowling being much of a threat,South Africa have taken far better bowling sides to Australia in the past and have struggled so what will change with this attack.If they get decent scores on the board first up then the Aussies may crack under pressure like in England last summer but i doubt it.
I hope de Villiers does well as i like the look of him as a player.Kallis will need to score as heavily as he did against England but Smith's tendency to get out lbw will be given a stern test by McGrath.

Playing England or Australia at home is a tall order but playing away is a bit of the mountain to climb.
Especially a wounded Australia after the loss of the Ashes.
For me the first key area is that SA bowling attack is a step down from the England attack. So the Aussie batsmen are going to get runs. They won't face the quality they did in the summer.
Australia's bowling attack is still high quality and the established batsmen are going to struggle.
I think De Villers should be dropped to around five. The senior batsmen should take the rap.
Kemp should be given a chance at six. He can possibly bowl a few overs.
Hopefully collectively the team will give a good account of themselves. Hopefully Ricky Ponting will be yelling at the SA dressing room.

AB de Villiers does look like a good player, and I believe he will score himself some runs, and I agree, Kallis will have to score a mountain of runs for SA to have a chance.

Another thing, I reckon that Pollock and Ntini are the main forces in the SA attack, so if the Aussies can shut them down, it will make it extremely hard for South Frica
