everyone gets caned in their career quite a few times. take a look at warne when he plays india. we have caned him many a time....

This was a big time caning. Cant remember Warne copping such punishment.

Fleming I've always opined is best opening bat in ODIs for chasing, its surprising fact that almost all his hundreds in that form of the game have come when NZ have chased, one of the best innings I saw him play was in the 2003 world cup against SA when they were chasing a real biggey, he comletely murdered the Proteas attack, and even though it was reduced target in the end, I would not bet against NZ chasing down even the original target so wonderfully was he batting

Sorry guys if this thread offends anyone I don't mean for it to. Admin seperated my thread. On the subject, Murali's sub-par performance vs. New Zealand can be put down to a shoulder injury.

| Heard on the BBC last night that Muralitharan is to have further surgery on his shoulder today or tomorrow and then will be out for ten weeks or so. Report from the BBC website here.

Murali gets a caning??? Who said? The motive was different I have no idea if the real motive behind the game was known by the starter of this thread.... The match was supposed to collect funds for the Tsunami affected countries and not a One-day-international. And Murali as a true Sri Lankan did something anyone would do. Each Boundary was complimented with a decent amount of money and shouldn't the purpose be to collect aid for a country? Thats why Murali had to concede that much. How many times has Fleming been successful in caning Murali in History?
