If Polly wants to prolong his career, he should stop playing tests.

Give guys like Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn the new ball with Ntini in tests.
But, as an ODI player, he can still make some valuable contributions for the Proteas.

Totally agree. I proposed this well over a year ago, probably two years. In todays climate when too much cricket is being played intelligent choices have to be made as top class players approach the last few years of their career. Pollock and Kallis to some extent sole focus should be the World cup.

maybe! ... but I don't see why these guys should be extending thier careers. give us what you got then git. i can certainly see steyn and morkel playing a big part in SA (though i thought hayward would too) but i would like to get a look at pollock's fitness in tests. i don't think they'll replace him very easily, personally.

Speaking as an Australian fan who last watched Pollock for an extended period last Australian summer he looked okay.

He is still a good bowler and handy with the bat.

Who would they replace him with?
Players of his ilk don't grow on trees.
