| I remember Mickey Arthurs recently saying, while on the tour to India, that Indian spectators should watchout for Botha who had a 'funny action', a mix of Harbhajan's and McGill's. I suppose the ICC found it a bit too funny!

| They'll probally bring Nicky Boje back into the team. I think the "15% law" has its flaws, while he may bowl past the 15%, its not like he had an unfair advantage, the whole tour he only took like 7-8 wickets and that was out of about 9 games. |

| Latest on Botha from the UCB "Johan has done lots of remedial work with Vincent Barnes at the Sports Science Institute in Cape Town and Shafiek Abrahams at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria, and also with Russell Domingo, his coach back home," Haroon Lorgat said on SuperCricket. "The corrections to his action have been done and now it's all about him bowling as much as possible"... "Before the start of next season he will have a test in South Africa just so we can be confident he will meet the ICC's regulations. After that he will go for the formal, independent testing in Perth." In the meantime I'm sure Botha will be keeping an anxious eye on how Thandi Tshabalala does in Sri Lanka. Thandi won't be playing in the first test, and I think if SA is 1 down after that test, he might not even get to play at all... |

| It will be interesting to see what changes he has made to his action. Any information on exactly what changes have been made? Because reduced elbow flex for his 'Murali' style bowling could easily go over the limit after 20 overs of bowling and when the body is tiring. Hopefully he can return to some domestic cricket, take lots of wickets and get back into the side, he is a good prospect for the future as a wicket taking bowler.

| Sorry Vrock, I don't know. Lorgat is not saying much about it either, other than the "remedial work" has been done and that "corrections have been made"...Quoting from his interview. He also added that all Johan has to do now is "bowl as much as possible for the changes to become habit".. Not ever having been a spinner in my life, I don't know what that means.. |

| botha doesnt have to bowl he is a fine bowler and he doesnt have to spin he can swing just a bit more pace. |

| Botha is un-banned Declared illegal in February, overturned (after some remedial work) in Cape Town, England and Perth. This now means he eligible to play against India and Pakistan tests and even the WC. Of course there is Paul Adams too...Will have to see how he does this weekend against the Indians. He is out to prove a point or two. And Thandi Tshabalala...Hmmm, even Con de Lange if the selectors want to be adventurous. Anyhow, Botha has done well for the Warriors this season. And if he's not called again in the next 2 years, he may well be around the fringes of the national side before long. He is still very young, after all. |
