Stephen Pope retires from cricket Stephen Pope was the wicket-keeper and No 3 bat for the Warriors. He's retiring from cricket with immediate effect. He's not even going to play any club cricket.
Warriors have now lost two of their best players. Pope, and opening bat Mark Bruyns.
Pope played for Eastern Province, Border and of course, Warriors. He finished his career with 12 first class centuries. He could also bowl a bit, and over the course of his career he changed from a genuine leg spinner, to a medium pacer, to an off-spin bowler.
Interesting changes taking place on the SA domestic scene of late...and a whole lot of rumours to boot... I'm keeping my eyes and ears peeled... |
