below 30 - that's my feeling. i can eat pies (though my svelt build is proof i don't do it too often ) - see you after the ashes
in this first test - pieterson has come as close to impressing me as he's gonna - and in the context of the game i will eat the pie and take seconds if this innings boosts his final ave above 30. good on him

this has been a dire match , especially for me who was hoping for the promised close encounter befitting the top two teams >

yet, reading that he stands by his "opinion" - i think i like him less. having opinions is fine but not just for the sake of having an opinion. why the stubborn refusal to disregard an opinion that seems to neither hold water nor have any regard for history...simply because "i have mates"...

Interesting comments by Ghulam Bodi in a Sunday Paper yesterday...He says:

1. At the time Pietersen was trying to find a place in the Kwa-Zulu Natal side, Pietersen was NOT competing with him (Bodi) for a place, as Pietersen was a struggling spin bowler averaging 12 batting...And Bodi is an opener.

2. Back then, the "quota system" was 1 player of colour per side. So, if Pietersen was as good back then as he claims, he would have had no problem finding a place in the side.

3. Bodi says if he EVER meets KP in a lift....

I think Pietersen's bowling average during that time at Kwa-Zulu Natal was about 40. So, they were right to drop him!

Fact is he is a cut above.

Although what he has said about SA is childish, if he'd have been good enough he (Pieterson) would have got a game .

Does he have any problems with where his loyalties lie ? He sure seems to be under fire for his role in the team at England ...

South Africa was banned from international cricket.

A better question is why the tool decided to come and live in Australia?
To answer my own question he is here because no matter how incompetent he is,he has a job for life because he is a great mate of the Packer family because of his support for World Series Cricket.

I don't like KP as a person much(or South Africans in general)but he is good to watch when batting.
With alot of stars retiring soon we need new people to step up and excite us.

I think Pietersen was nothing special when he was in South Africa. He thought he was better than he really was and was unhappy everyone else didn't think so. He only really became good at Notts with Clive Rice as a coach. The thing with Pietersen is he is a fast learner and has plans to become the best. So he will be prepared to do whatever it takes to improve even more whereas many batsmen will be happy if they have an average of 40.00. I see a situation similar to Andy Flower playing for Zimbabwe, always carrying the team.
