Who would you bring back?

If you could bring back a South African who never played ODI cricket to play in the World CUp ... who would it be?

Personally, I would choose either Mike Procter or Clive Rice.
Kourie could be an interesting choice for a spinner...lets face it I don't remember SA ever having a spinner of too much substance.

Graeme Pollock. He would have adapted to the conditions quickly and taken the bowlers apart.

Why not have both? Barry Richards was an opening batsman while Pollock usually came in at No:4. While you are it, add Clive Rice, Mike Procter and that hard-hitting wicket-keeper Denis Lindsay. Throw in Eddie Barlow with Neil Adcock to open the bowling and you'd have an unbeatable team no matter who else played .

I dont know I'd still fancy an early 80's Windies team, it would be a good match though!

Mike Proctor and Barry Richards would be the two i'd like to see play.

Graeme Pollock - he would have been as good an ODI players as Viv Richards the ODI game is just suited to him.

Lightbulb

If I had to pick a full team of these players, it would be...

Barry Richards
Eddie Barlow
Allan Lamb - Assuming that had SA no been exluded he would of played for SA
Graeme Pollock
Lee Irvine
Mike Procter
Clive Rice - Captain
Denis Lindsay - Wicket - Keeper
Peter Pollock - Opening Bowler
Neil Adcock or Garth Le Roux - Opening Bowler
Alan Kourie (Spinner)

This team resembles the 1969/70 series team but supplement mainly with players of the 80s.
I decided that Eddie Barlow could open the batting for a ODI side, after deciding against Jimmy Cook.
I thought Ali Bacher was an outstanding tactiton, however he was dropped and Clive Rice is the captain.
Ray Jennings could perhaps go in instead of Lindsay.
I can't decide between Neil Adcock and Garth Le Roux?? Never watched Adcock he apparently did very well in a mediocre team...not sure on this one.
Could throw in Stephen Jeffries, for a bowler who got good swing on the ball, but I would want Alan Kourie as a spin bowler.

What do you think about my team, how do you think it would do in modern ODI cricket??

Johnny Lindsay? I thought the bighitting wicketkeeper from the 60s was called Denis Lindsay? Personally, I would keep him as the 'keeper.

Wasn't there an attacking batsman in the 70s named Brian Davison? Or was he Rhodesia-Zimbabwe?

My apologies...it is Denis, Johnny was his father...I made an edit.

Brian Davison was Zimbabwean, at least accoriding to CricInfo.
